House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Thursday there are no immediate plans for a second stimulus package, but she didn't rule out the possibility of having one in the future.
President Obama last month signed into law a $787 billion stimulus package. Pelosi said her preference is to see how that works before moving on to an additional stimulus package.
as more and more companies need saving a lot have questioned is there going to be a second stimulus plan and the answer is no.The first plan was to set a safe haven for the companies and normal Americans in need and this is like a one time thing.

A Quinnipiac University poll of New Jersey registered voters released Thursday indicates that Corzine trails Chris Christie, his likely Republican challenger in this year's general election campaign, by 9 points in a hypothetical matchup.Christie's lead is up from a 6-point margin in a Quinnipiac poll in February, despite relatively low public knowledge about the former U.S. attorney -- 61 percent of those questioned in the survey said they don't know enough about Christie to form an opinion.

President Obama told congressional leaders Thursday he's planning to pull all combat troops out of Iraq by August 2010, which falls short of his campaign promise to bring all combat forces home within 16 months, according to three congressional officials.With this Obamas plans would be to with draw troops 19 months after his inauguration.For his plans are good in all.But just pulling out of Iraq is going to be difficult,for without the U.S. help the current situation of Iraq will collapse and just lead to another dictatorship.

This pie shows how the stimulus plan and i t looks like more money is going to energy and environmental topics in government then to the housing issues and 66 billion is going towards education.Basically Obama is just doing what he promised on his campaign.I mean It looks like its not going to do that much of a big change.Justice and science and also defense for the u.s. is only getting like around 16 billion which is sort of good.

Former Senate Majority Leader George Mitchell was named special envoy for the Middle East during an event at the State Department on Thursday afternoon.This could be Obamas first like step in dealing with the middle east peace process.For Mitchell was also the envoy for George w bush. Mitchell said, "I don't underestimate the difficulty of this assignment."I agree with him there because just getting those people in the middle east to just sit down together is like a difficult problem but lets just see what Obama and Mitchell have up there sleeve's.
